Meet the Roommates

Picture
Syd Venician

He’s a sculptor, ceramicist, and everyone’s friend.  What’s not to like?  He is easy to get along with, doesn’t make waves, and prefers to go along to get along.  Plus, he’s seldom ever awake during daylight hours, he does all his work at night.  And whenever he is up during the day, he’s too groggy to do much more than smile and sip at his coffee.

Nanci Ibogaine

Nanci is a musician and painter.  She works hard.  At first she wasn’t certain that she even belonged at art school.  But, after lots of work and learning a lot, after persevering through all of the ups and downs, she found her niche and established herself as a artist who demonstrates great intelligence and potential.  She doesn’t have all the answers all the time; but she listens to what others say, watches what goes on around her, and generally tries to do the right thing.

Art Tedesco

Art a prodigy.  Even in a community chock full of talented people, his work stands out.  He is known around campus as the most naturally gifted classical painters of his cadre.  He produces amazing work, seemingly without effort.  He’s wildly prolific, and his studio would be filled with his paintings, if they weren't so widely sought after by gallery owners from New York to LA.  But he’s hard to be close to because, as sweet as he can be when he’s sober, he’s rarely sober.  He pursues the life of debauched artist with all the energy and intensity that his peers reserve for their creative work.

Prudence Isla

She’s an illustrator of the highest caliber.  Her work is intricate and precise, and she does not let it out of her hands before it is finished, completely finished, to a level that meets her superlative standard for perfection.  Problem is, her standards are so high that she has trouble ever feeling like any of her work is ever completely “ready.”

Nunzio Calidoscious

He is rich, handsome, cultured, and lazy.  He is, in actual fact, european royalty (of some degree from some unrecognizable part of western europe).  At different times during his undergraduate work, he’s been a painter, illustrator, graphic artist, architect, sculptor, even a poet.  None seemed to stick.  Though, as he would describe it, “Each offered him a window, though none a window quite large enough for his heart to fit through.”  So when asked, he simply refers to himself as an artist, and leaves it at that.  He’s quite friendly and attentive at times, but can also mysteriously disappear for days on end.  After these absences, he’ll return - his tan noticeably deeper, wearing expensive-looking new shoes or top coat or satchel.
