Nanci's Game Plan

Picture
Pricing
We each set our own pricing: whatever we think will sell.  If we’re unsure, we can ask each other for perspectives.  Each piece of art will have one of these small stickers on it, and we’ll write the price on the sticker.  I’ll make a sheet that has the artist, title of piece, and price for all of the artwork we’re selling.  I’ll make copies of this list and give a copy to each of you and we can make some copies available to patrons.

Sales
Any one of us can sell any piece of art in the show.  We just have to stick to the
pricing on the list.  If some patron decides to by a piece, we put a blue sticker (one of these here) on the white pricing sticker so everyone knows what’s been sold.  Then, whoever is handling that sale can bring the patron over to the Money Table with a description of which art piece is being bought.  We’ll take shifts so we always have one of us sitting at the table (including Nunzio... if he’s in town...).  Once the patron has been delivered to the Money Table, the person who delivered them can go back to help other patrons.  Whoever is working their shift at the Money Table will takeover from there.

Keeping Track of Transactions
We’ll need to be able to keep track of what got sold.  So, we’ll keep one
master list of all artwork for sale.  We can keep this list on a clipboard which at all times during the show will stay at the Money Table.  Whenever something is sold, there are three steps:  we’ll take in the money, write down under the correct column (cash, check, or credit) how much we took in (this should be the same as the price).  The last step is providing a receipt.  I got this book of receipts that prints duplicates each time one is written out.  One receipt goes to the patron and the other we’ll keep in a separate folder in the drawer of the Money Table.  Then, at the end of the show, we can count up all the receipts and compare them with the number of sales recorded on the master list.  We should have the same number of receipts as entries on the master list.
