Prudence has her say

The show was, in my view, almost a total disaster. We scared off the guys from New York, who may never return my phone calls ever again. We fumbled around each other, probably discouraging potential buyers because they were so confused by our haphazard layout. And we have basically no information about what sales we did in fact make. I know about the pieces I sold, but have no idea how we all did overall. And that matters because, if you look back at our original agreement when we first started this whole thing, we were each supposed to be equal partners. Well, that means equal in terms of income as well as expenses, right? So, if for example, I sold $200 worth of my work and Art the Genius sold $20,000, does it all go into the same pot? I mean we each owe an equal share of the rent and other expenses.
And, as long as I’m thinking about expenses, I have questions there too. I bought a couple of things for the event: snacks, a new broom, some masking tape, nails for hanging artwork. I made those available to everyone - they were like my contribution to the cause. So do I get reimbursed for part of that expense? Or will everyone else match my contribution in some way? And how will we track that? Also, since I used a credit card for those expenses, do I get reimbursed for just the expense or am I also due something to help cover any interest or fees I might be charged as a result of that purchase?
She was on a roll, and seemed to be about to launch into another list of thoughts about the show, when Nanci shifted slightly in her chair. Nanci’s movement caused the chair to make a scraping sound on the floor. Prudence glared at Sal, apparently presuming Nanci was trying to interrupt. Nanci seemed surprised and drew in a breath slowly, as if thinking of how to reply... when Art chimed in.
