Pay the band!

Picture
One day, after a big and successful gig, Nanci discovered that she did not have enough cash to pay the band.  Three band members showed up looking to get paid, in cash.  As was her custom, Nanci made them wait in the Westfalia while she went around the corner to the nearest ATM.  But, she soon discovered that there wasn’t enough in the account to pay them and cover the various living expenses she knew were coming up over the next few days.

On her way home, she figured she had probably spent too much on Syd’s home remedies.  But then, she realized, it wasn’t just that expenses had gone up.  CD and MP3 sales had fallen off of late.  But sales always fell off in autumn, before the holiday season.  By mid-December, she’d have plenty of cash on hand.  But the band wanted to be paid now.

She called Syd: “We need to talk about money.  We need to get organized.”
